Human Factors in Risk-Based
Public Workshop of the FAROS project took
place on the 17th and 18th of September, 2013. The venue
was the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University
College London (UCL).
The two-day conference featured presentations from industry, academia and research organisations on a range of technical areas including:
• Human element factors in shipping safety
• Effect of environment and design on crew performance
• Virtual reality and bridge simulator experiments
• Role of the human element in maritime accidents
- Collision and grounding
- Fire and explosion
- Personal injury and death
